The Wiener Library is open to the general public. You are welcome to study our books, documents and photos in our reading room free of charge.
Members and Friends of the Library may borrow books
The Reading Room is open each weekday from 10.00 am to 5.15 pm. It is not necessary to make an appointment to study the materials available but if you are a first time user, please bring some picture ID and either proof of address or a letter of introduction from your tutor or employer.
The holdings in the Wiener Library Reading Room that are within reach are available on open access. Readers can take as many books off the shelves as they like, however, we do ask that you do not return them to the shelves, please leave them on the tables instead. Books on the three top shelves are on closed access. For this fragile material, duplicates, rare books and for all material that is not located in the Reading Room users are requested to fill in call slips and staff will bring the material for the readers within minutes.
If you would like further information please see our pages on How to Join and Services Available.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THE LIBRARY WILL ALSO BE CLOSED ON
16 MAY AND 4TH TO 8TH AUGUST 2008.
Please note that owing to routine maintenance one of the basement book rooms is inaccessible at present and books stored there cannot be retrieved. This affects books from sections including antisemitism, Jewish history, and National Socialist ideology. We hope that normal service will resume within three weeks and apologise for the inconvenience.
