Roman's Journey  by Roman Halter

Wednesday 17 October, 7.00 pm.

Holocaust survivor, Roman Halter, talks about his acclaimed memoir. Born in 1927, Roman Halter is a celebrated architect and artist. He designed the gates to Israel’s Holocaust memorial, Yad Vashem, and (with his son Ardyn) the stained-glass memorial to the Rwandan Holocaust in Kigali. He has made coats-of-arms for HM the Queen’s embassies worldwide, and his paintings, testifying to his experiences during WWII, recently went on show at Tate Britain, before finding a place in the permanent collection at the Imperial War Museum. He has written a play, “The Conversation” which was broadcast on Radio 4 in 2006 and recently, he has been the focus of a BBC film by Fergal Keane also entitled “Roman’s Journey”. He regularly talks about the Holocaust educationally.
