Press Cuttings

The Wiener Library has been cutting newspaper articles on a daily basis since 1933. They are drawn from an international range of newspapers and now number several million. The articles cover a wide range of subjects relating to events in Europe and elsewhere before, during and after the Second World War.

The articles are arranged by subject according to an in-house classification and thus allow researchers to trace changing attitudes and perceptions towards the Holocaust. The press cuttings also reflect changes after the Cold War and the re-unification of Germany. The availability of press cuttings from such diverse sources over such a long period of time makes the Wiener Library Press Cuttings Archive a unique source for researchers.
