International Tracing Service
Following the decision by the UK Foreign & Commonwealth Office to take a digital copy of the archive of the International Tracing Service and deposit it at the Wiener Library, it is hoped that the copy can be made accessible to researchers and those wanting to trace individuals as soon as possible.

The ITS archive is the world’s largest collection of documents on the Nazi era and Second World War and contains some 50 million documents covering 17.5 million people who including material from concentration, slave labour and displaced persons’ camps as well as transportation lists.

The copy will come under the supervision of the UK ITS Stakeholder Group which is comprised of leading organisations and historians of the period in Britain. The Group must first raise funds for the IT infrastructure and running costs, which are of the order of £70,000 per annum. We are working hard to secure these funds and will keep visitors to the website updated. Once the funding is in place we estimate that it will take around three months to make the archive available.

All donations or suggestions for funding will be gratefully received. If you would like to contact us please use our contact form.
