We frequently have places for people who would like to volunteer to work at the Library for at least 5/6 months.
Starting dates are negotiable.
For students/graduates of librarianship, information science, or archive studies only. You will gain insight into all aspects of library services including acquisitions, cataloguing, indexing, and customer service.
Essential:
Fluency in English and a good reading knowledge of German.
Desirable:
Interest in the history of the Holocaust and related subjects.
We can provide Monthly travel cards for transport in London. External funding is possible.

The Wiener Library offers annual places for Austrian “Gedenkdiener” and for volunteers of Action Reconciliation Service for Peace (ARSP)/Aktion Sühnezeichen Friedensdienste (ASF).
Austrian Holocaust Memorial Service (Gedenkdienst) is an alternative to Austria’s compulsory national military service. Its participants serve at major Holocaust institutions. A voluntary service with Action Reconciliation Service for Peace (ARSP) is eligible for people aged over 18. The service begins in September and the interviews take place in advance in Germany and are organised by ARSP/ASF.
